[ for ease of threading, this is going to be a semi-informal Choose Your Own Adventure type of thread - or like a text-based RPG game (the original kind, not DWRP). you'll be threading with the environment more than any one NPC. as such, feel free to ask questions about the environment like a video game character examining items around the room. i'll give you a scenario to kick off with. ]
At precisely midnight, a dim glow appears in the morgue cell, a square encompassing the top, bottom, and walls. It begins near the back of the cell, then moves slowly toward Groot and the papers - it's scanning. The scan picks up the papers, measures their size, and a square foot of the floor drops out of the bottom. The descent is slow at first, maybe ten miles per hour, but once it's dropped far enough to reach the barrier underneath the containment area, that picks up to nearly sixty miles per hour.
Not that Groot has much time to notice. The pass through the barrier doesn't fry him, but it's enough to jolt him unconscious until the papers arrive in what appears to be a filing tray at the bottom of a long chute.
The tray's on a table in an unattended office. The office seems extremely tidy, but otherwise decently unremarkable. It seems to only be equipped for one individual, rather than any series of cubicles or whatnot.
What does Groot do?
